Facilitated by Alicia Radage & Jasper Llewellyn, Assembly is an ongoing series of practice-driven symposia that explore the role of Action Art within contemporary art and art education, primarily taking place in an artist-run space in the countryside in Les-Alpes-d’Haute-Provence, France.

Assembly was initially conceived as reaction to our own experiences, and those of other artists, on UK university programmes which claim to accommodate for Performance/Action Art. Assembly is designed to be an opportunity for artists to build new, alternate pedagogical environments for Action Art teaching and learning, outside of an institutional context.

Now, every Assembly gathering is grounded in a series of principles

NO TEACHERS, NO STUDENTS, NO HIERARCHY
